Staff

Martha Madison
Artistic Director and Principal Teacher. A graduate of Dance Educators of America Teacher Training School, studio owner and dance educator, Ms. Madison has been teaching since 1966. She has studied dance at Western Kentucky University and the University of South Florida. She has been a guest teacher and artist in residence for the Warren County, Barren County and Bowling Green City Schools in Kentucky. In 1993 she was recognized by the Warren County Board of Education for her contribution of arts education. In 1996 she developed a dance education program for the Housing Authority of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Char Allen
Ms. Allen taught dance in Pendelton, Indiana for 25 years before moving to Bowling Green, Kentucky. In Pendelton, Ms. Allen was an active member of the community, teaching, conducting workshops and choreography for local schools and civic groups. She has attended training sessions with Lugi, Tramaine, and Dance Caravan. She has been a certified gymnastics judge and aerobics instructor. This is Char's 12th season at Dance Arts.

Ashleigh Davis Keefer  Ashleigh graduated in May 2008 from Western Kentucky University with a minor in dance where she was a member of the WKU Dance Company. Through the University she was a performer in the ACDFA program 2007 and 2008. She also performed in the Chicago World Jazz Dance Congress 2007 and participated in the "Overseas" Dance tour through Italy in the summer of 2008. She began dancing at age 3 y.o., training at the Dance Arts Studio where she was enrolled in advanced ballet, pointe and jazz classes. She was a member of the Dance Arts Performance Troupe and Dance Company winning many awards for her dance talents. She has taught for Ms. Adrienne's Dance studio in Glasgow, Kentucky, and the Competitive Dance team at Tumble Town Gymnastics Center in Bowling Green. We are delighted that Ashleigh is back with us at Dance ARts to share her talents with the Dance Arts students.
Deanna Jenkins  Deanna is currently attending Western Kentucky University where she is working toward a double major in History and Art History. She has been dancing since age 6 y.o. and is a Dance Arts graduate. She wa a student at the advanced level in ballet, pointe, tap and jazz. Deanna was a member of the Dance ARts Company and Performance Troupe. She has competed in several dance competitions winning many honors. She also has received recognition for routines she has choreographed for members of the Dance Arts Company and Performance Troupe. For several years Deanna assisted at our Children's Dance and Theatre Summer Camp and performed in the annual Nutcracker Tea Party. Deanna hopes to be involved with dance at some capacity her entire life. This is Deanna's 4th season teaching at Dance Arts.
Guest Teachers and Choreographers

Clifton Keefer Brown Mr. Brown, M.F.A. University of Arizona, B.FA University of Iowa, is the Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University in the Department of Theater and Dance. He will conduct a master class series in ballet dance at the Dance Arts Studio for approximately 6 weeks in the Fall and 6 weeks in the Spring. He has danced professionally as a principal dancer and soloist; taught Master classes in ballet, modern dance, and jazz; and designed a curriculum, class format, and examination process to teach jazz and ballet technique. His career as a performer, choreographer, and dance educator is extensive not only in the U.S., but also in Europe. We sincerely appreciate Mr. Brown sharing his vast knowledge with our Dance Arts students. It is most important that our studio begin to network more closely with the University. As of the Fall Semester of 2007, Western Kentucky University is the only university in the state of Kentucky with a Dance Major.
